Akshay Kumar to sing for 'Chandni Chowk To China'

Yes, the star will record the whole song in his own voice for director Nikhil Advani ’s upcoming flick ‘Chandni Chowk To China’. Previously, Akshay has done some rapping in "Singh Is Kinng". This time he is singing a full-fledged song along with pop group Rhythm Dhol Bass, popularly known as RDB.

It is learnt that Akshay’s song is an integral part of the story and will be recorded in mid October. Akshay is working hard for the song which will narrate his own story. ‘Chandni Chowk To China’ is on the lines of Jackie Chan movies. The film also stars Deepika Padukone and is slated to release early next year.

Excited about the song, Zayed Khan, who is in Bangkok and Phuket for the past month, said to a news daily, "It's never been done before. On the concept level itself, it sounds too outrageous... The entire cast singing in the deep-sea. That's unique-man!"

Akshay Kumar to adopt flood-hit village in Bihar

"Akshay Kumar has decided to adopt a village for rehabilitation," Jha told reporters in Patna. Jha, who is from Bihar, has set up an organisation called Punarwaas with help from NGOs like Anubhooti and Prayas. He said he was running a relief camp for 5,000 people in Kataiya in Supaul district, one of the worst hit by the floods. He said he had the backing of several Bollywood friends.

Disaster Management Minister Nitish Mishra said that rehabilitating hundreds of thousands of people affected by the calamity was a "Herculean task". "The state government plans to adopt the rehabilitation pattern used for victims of tsunami (2004) as well as the earthquake in Gujarat (2001)," he said.

About 989,000 people have been evacuated to safer places. Around 350,000 people have taken shelter in over 300 relief camps.

Akshay's jumbo gift to son

For the sake of his son, Akki is working on the animation film titled “Jumbo”, which is produced by Percept Picture Company.

“Jumbo” will release in December, ahead of the January release of Akki’s next feature film “Chandni Chowk To China”.

‘Action replay’ for Ash-Akki

Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai will team up again in the forthcoming film Action Replay. They last came together for Rajkumar Santoshi’s Khakee, which released over four years back. Arjun Rampal has also been signed for this Vipul Shah project. The team will begin shooting in February next year.

The insider adds, "Action Replay will combine a contemporary setting with a period look where Mumbai of the 1950s will be recreated. Nitin Desai will do the set design. He will replicate the time period by constructing roads, cars and houses over six acres of land in his Karjat studio."

Akshay desperate to have Katrina in his home production

The Bollywood Khiladi is playing safe and taking no chances when it comes to deciding any aspect of his movie. "The film is special to me, and I feel the audience likes seeing us together on screen," the actor said on his decision to cast Katrina, when innumerable offers from other actresses were also present. It is believed that Kat went out of her way to accommodate good friend Akki in spite of being packed. She juggled her schedule and managed to eke out some time for Akki’s first home production.

Star Gold to showcase journey of Akshay Kumar

The film festival which will run till 30 September will culminate into a mega event in October. "It is a retrospect show completely dedicated to Akshay Kumar. It will have celebrity performances on the actor and the event will be aired on the channel," said Star Gold GM Sameer Rao.

Star Gold, however, has not acquired the recent blockbuster titles like Bhool Bhulaiya, Hey Baby and Welcome which shot Akshay Kumar to fame. "We are utilising the titles that we have in our library and not acquired the latest ones," said Rao. Through ‘Chandni Chowk to Bollywood’, Star Gold will also capture some special moments of the actor’s life.

Rao said, "Chandni Chowk to Bollywood, the movie festival of Akshay Kumar on Star Gold, will take you through finer details of life and times, on screen and off screen of Akshay Kumar. We also thank Akshay as he will take time out from his busy schedule to perform at a mega event only for the viewers of Star Gold."

Get set to break-a-bone with Akshay and Jackie Chan!

After sharing the screen space with the hot seductress Mallika Sherawat in ‘The Myth’, Jackie Chan is now all set to break a bone in a Bollywood flick. The man who is known to perform all the action stunts by himself is definitely a tough competition for Bollywood’s action hero Akshay Kumar.

The source added, "It is not known who will direct the film, but the buzz is that it will be a known international filmmaker. The project is slated to begin when Chan is free. Unlike ‘The Myth’, which has a strong Chinese sense in the script, this movie will be on the lines of Rush Hour where two cultures come together. In the past, Akki has openly said that he'd love to work with Chan and this opportunity comes at the right time."

Post Singh is Kinng, Akshay bonds with son

"It's full-on male-bonding time now. If all three of us had been on a holiday together, I'd have been divided between my son and wife. And both would've felt cheated. By dividing my holiday time into two I can give myself completely to both," Akshay said. While Akshay was on holiday with his son, he didn't use the phone.
"At least not when Aarav was around."

But the actor is unperturbed. "I'm not here to go by definitions and standards of fashion set by others. I've always worn what I'm comfortable in. Why should I change that just because more people are watching me now? And I saw nothing wrong with the leopard-spotted T-shirt.
"When Brad Pitt wears a similar T-shirt, everyone goes ooh and aah. I don't want people's approval about my clothes, but of my performances. Let me wear what I like," said Akshay whose Singh Is Kinng has been declared a huge hit.

Apart from his film, the adventure show Fear Factor on Colors channel that Akshay is anchoring has also been a huge success. If rumours are to be believed, he is already negotiating for a second season of Fear Factor and that too at a much steeper fee than Fear Factor 1.
